Building Canada's most dynamic community for

social purpose professionals

Our Story

Purpose-driven leaders shouldn't have to do this work alone.

Whether you're navigating ESG pressures at a major corporation, building partnerships at a growing business, or leading a team committed to impact—you need peers who understand.

For years, social impact leaders across Canada worked in isolation—navigating complex challenges, building business cases for purpose work, and pushing for change inside organizations that didn't always understand. They attended conferences that inspired but didn't sustain. They built partnerships but lacked ongoing peer support.

Greater Purpose was founded to change that.

Starting with the Partnership Conference and evolving into today's national movement, we've built the infrastructure Canada's purpose economy needs: year-round community, flagship conferences, regional gatherings, and a platform that celebrates excellence.

Today, Greater Purpose represents 30+ member organizations—from early-stage businesses to major corporations—and connects hundreds of purpose-driven professionals coast to coast. We're the community where Canada's purpose-led business movement lives and grows.

This is just the beginning. Join us in shaping what comes next.

The Values We Share

Generosity

We're generous with our ideas, our time, and our network—working toward collective and scalable impact across Canada.

Impatience

We're ambitious with our vision and urgent in our action. The issues defining our future can't wait, and neither can we.

Inclusion

We bring together leaders from all backgrounds, sectors, and perspectives to build a community where everyone belongs.

We acknowledge that Greater Purpose operates across the traditional and ancestral territories of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples from coast to coast to coast. We honour their enduring relationships with the land and their stewardship since time immemorial.

As a community devoted to elevating social purpose leadership and empowering purpose‑driven professionals, we embrace our role in a much broader journey toward creating lasting improvements in the lives of people and communities. In alignment with our mission to create meaningful, lasting change, we commit to ongoing learning, building authentic relationships, uplifting Indigenous voices, and supporting actions that advance truth and reconciliation across the lands where we work and gather.
