Co-Creating Social Purpose Through Human Connection

Speaker

Lara Gerrits, BCLC

Description

In a time of growing social isolation and complexity, businesses are being challenged to look beyond traditional models and actively contribute to stronger, more connected communities.

This session explores how the B.C. Lottery Corporation (BCLC) took its social purpose – to generate win wins for the greater good – and intentionally focused it into a clear, actionable strategy known as the BCLC Human Connection Project.

BCLC began with a process of listening and engagement, bringing together internal teams, community partners, charities and stakeholders across the public, private and non profit sectors. Through this collaborative approach, human connection became the organizing principle for how BCLC would bring its social purpose to life to drive growth and strengthen wellbeing and belonging.

The session will highlight how cross sector partnerships became the BCLC Human Connection Project’s “secret sauce,” enabling enterprise and industry integration, credibility and relevance. Participants will leave with practical insights on translating social purpose into a focused, executable strategy that drives impact, brand and, ultimately, growth.
