Leigh Naturkach is a non-profit leader with 25+ years experience in media and issues of gender and health equity, gender-based violence, social and reproductive justice, as well as end of life rights and deathcare.

She is currently the Executive Director of ALS Action Canada, a community-driven national charity. Previously, she led the Mosaic Institute for Harnessing Diversity. Her consultant practice has served clients including ROM, Agency One First Nation, SafePet Ontario and the Dr. Borna Meisami Commemorative Foundation. 

She has held leadership and management roles at Women’s College Hospital Foundation, AIDS Committee of Toronto, Canadian Women’s Foundation, as well as multiple Board of Director and frontline volunteer roles.



Leigh has formal education in media, thanatology, and community development. As a qualified death doula, she co-founded the Living and Dying Well Collective Rainy River District. She is also a certified dog foster and trainer working actively in rescue.
