Michelle Reid is the Manager of Indigenous Reconciliation at BDC and an Ojibwe woman from Serpent River First Nation. She leads BDC’s corporate reconciliation strategy in response to the call for Truth, Reconciliation, and Indigenous inclusion across the business community. Grounded in relationships and values based leadership, Michelle works to embed Indigenous ways of knowing into how BDC shows up with entrepreneurs, partners, and communities across Canada.
Prior to this role, Michelle helped grow the B Corp movement in Canada, supporting businesses committed to sustainability, equity, and purpose. She carries her grandmother Sarah’s teachings of honesty, humility, and respect into her work every day. Michelle lives in Richmond on the traditional and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people, where she is raising her daughter Valkyrie to be a fierce advocate for justice and reconciliation and a constant reminder of why this work matters.
