Nav Sawhney
Nav Sawhney is the founder of The Washing Machine Project, a social enterprise providing off-grid washing machines to communities in need. Inspired by a pivotal encounter with Divya, a woman hand washing clothes in South India, Nav left a career at one of the UK largest car manufacturers to fulfil a promise: to design her a washing machine. Since founding The Washing Machine Project in 2019, he’s delivered machines to over 46,000 people across thirteen countries. With partners like Whirlpool Foundation and UNHCR, the project continues to scale. His work has earned numerous awards, including the George H W Bush Points of Light Award in 2023.
